Machine

A machine turns electrical power into "useful work"--in Minecraft, this usually is changing a quantity of one item into a quantity of another. For example:

• Smelting, done by the vanilla furnace and Electrical Furnace;
• Grinding, done by the AE2 Grindstone, BC Pulverizer, and Macerator;
• Magnetization, done by the Magnetizer;

and so forth.

Various mods may also have other ways of doing "useful work"; for example, OpenComputers adds programmable computers, Applied Energistics adds item storage networks, etc. These mods and others require power from somewhere, and you can use the Exporter to power them from your Electrical Age grid.
