Transformers (really DC/DC boost/buck regulators) convert between voltages. In this case, we are converting VHV cables (in red) at 3.2kV nom. to HV cables (in orange) at 800v nom. This is a 4:1 ratio (and thus 4 VHV cables and 1 HV cable).

I also have an optimal core which has (almost) no loss. Other cores cause energy loss.
